As an ecologist, I am working on Mitigating the Challenges of Climate Change on the Aquatic Ecosystem. This research work is very vital to my home country Nigeria because it borders the Atlantic Ocean with six states. The general assembly has expressed serious concern over current and projected effect of climate change on the marine environment, marine biodiversity, food security and the sustainability of fisheries. More specifically, the general assembly reiterated vulnerability of the fragile ecosystems to pollution and pressures from human activity and emphasized the urgency of addressing this issue. In Africa, fish is one the cheapest and most staple source of protein available and as a result it is in high demand, demand far outweighs supply. It serves as a major solution to malnutrition in Africa.
