2022 NF-POGO-Eurofleets+-DTU Aqua Shipboard Training Fellowship onboard IESNS cruise

General Information

22 Apr 2022 to 6 May 2022

The Danish component of the International Acoustic Survey in the Nordic Seas (IESNS) is organised by the National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU-Aqua).

The main objectives of this scientific cruise onboard the R/V Dana are to map the distribution and migrations of herring and other pelagic fish and to assess their biomass, to monitor the hydrographic and plankton conditions of the Norwegian Sea and adjacent waters and describe how feeding and migration of herring and other pelagic fishes are influenced by these. Potential activities onboard include support and collaboration with the scientific crew with the acoustic survey, CTD/hydrography casts, plankton, trawl fishery and processing of wet samples (e.g, collect otoliths, measure length, weight, sex, maturity and age of herring and blue whiting samples).
